BS: The End

I have deduced that the world has ended yesterday and this is heaven. So, how is it for you? Any surprises.

The beer tree grows quite near the spaghetti tree... but requires a lot more care.

So, there is a Mudcat in heaven, or hell?

Since there is no heaven or hell, there is no answer.

There is a heaven and a hell, Kendall... just not after you die. Rather, WHEN you die. Hence the notion ("belief", for some) that you suffer in hell for eternity if ya fuck up and vicey versey. That's why ya should do yer best not ta fuck up... when yer on yer way out and ya can't correct the fuck ups, facing death is "hell" but if ya done yer best, hey, ya have no regrets and ya die with a clean conscience - that is "heaven". After ya die, yer just ashes and dust and hell cannot exist for ashes and dust.

That's my take on heaven and hell and I think it's the best one I ever heard in any attempt to understand the concept or to explain something that is inherently illogical, as you have pointed out.

Try to explain that viewpoint to a devout "fill in the blank". Even some of the "other side of the coins" balk at giving my concept credence, although I dunno why (yet).

Now. Back to the thread.

I checked and I just can't find the memo. Maybe that's why the world hasn't ended at my house yet? OH! Maybe it was sent by email and got into my spam folder by mistake? Hmmmm... I think I'll just delete the whole spam folder without checking any of the emails in it... on accounta I got a feelin about what might happen. >;-)

Gnuzer, you have one helluva fine engineering mind. I agree with your description, as far as it goes. I have met enough people who have found themselves staring at past lives that I have a strong suspicion that the I-ness of I is separable and continuable regardless of the whatness of the brain-body systems. But your definitions of predisposition seem to hold true in either scenario as to which would be experienced as hellacious and which Paradisiacal. Good thinking, dude!

Bill, don't bother. I know what you are going to say, and why. :D.

Given that postulate from JP, Bill, we must be in heaven.

We ain't in heaven yet. If we was, my rent would be paid off, not to mention all the other bills. And they ain't.

We might be in purgatory, though...

Well Pete,for starters:

There are no new programs on TV, only reruns.

My paper was not delivered to the door- when I went to the local coffee shop only yesterdays newspaper was displayed on the rack.

My alarm clock only keeps displaying 12 o'clock, over and over.

The best before date on my cofee cream is yesterday

I saw a new road sign down the road that says "prepare top meet thy God

Just to mention a few tell-tale signs

I will be looking in Mudcat for "Musket in heaven" and " Mudcat folk chat in heaven" signs But, I know these folks are likely too busy to change the signs, checking out the new digs and angelic folk songs. Joe O likely is most likelytasked with checking out a new site for a new post Earth church. Is there a need for the internet in heaven? Yes, of course.

Musket will be in heaven at 1650 bst when three points at the expense of Burnley FC are in the bag.

So that's why my tomatoes suddenly started ripening, after three weeks of my worrying that the critters were stealing them.

Last night I felt peckish about 11 pm. Had a sandwich of homemade bread, ripe garden tomato, and real mayonnaise. It was heavenly, if not actually heaven.

Well, by homemade, I mean 'bread machine.' I have no patience with kneading bread dough.

Leeneia, put the bread mix on dough cycle, remove from machine when done, split into two loaves. Let them prove for 30-40 mins then bake at 175 degrees for 18-20 mins (for a fan oven) The bread is MUCH lighter with a proper crust.

Warm bread and butter............ now that is heavenly!

What with the tight economy and all, there have been some alterations in the original "RAPTURE" plan:
Instead of lasting for the whole tribulation, it's now just going to be a long weekend in Historic Williamsburg--three nights in a three star hotel--no room service, but there will be two dinners at the all you can eat seafood buffet, and a Sunday Night "Southern Style" Banquet in the Historically Recreated Shields Tavern . Free admission to all the attractions, and an all-pass to Busch Gardens Adventure Park.   Friday night will showcase the debut of Revelation™ by Cirque du Soleil®, and Saturday night will feature a special musical tribute to the New Testament at the Kimball Theatre. Free golf is offered throughout the weekend, but reservations are required.

For insurance reasons, rather than being caught up in the clouds, believers will be transported in luxurious tour busses with patented 360° view.
