This is a different song than that posted in 2003 by Jim Dixon. The refrain goes: Did-dle-ee-eye-dee, did-dle-ee-eye-dee Whack the fol-da lad-die-o, Say Did-dle-ee-eye-dee, did-dle-ee-eye-dee Whack the fol-da lad-die-o. Any help out there would be appreciated. I'm working through Traditional Arts of Upstate New York (Canton, NY) on a project to transcribe all of MLPorter's field recordings. The vocal line on this track is pretty muffled, so I can only make out the occasional word. Lynn |

Porter also transcribed this one herself and published it in an old New York Folklore Quarterly article called Peter Parrott and His Songs or something like that.
