listening to Radio Scotland prog discussing going for Bowel Cancer Screening. It played a rather catchy little song to help promote the idea to the public its called TEST YOUR POO. Might make the charts.

Yes its catchy, all credit to the songwriter whoever that may be

But only works for scotland and sounds like something Ivor Cutler would have written.

"The Leith Agency has launched The Poo Song, a catchy tune to encourage youngsters to tell their elders to do a bowel cancer test.

The cheeky ditty - which comes up with all sorts of infantile poo synonyms to make its point - was commissioned by the Scottish Government as part of a wider drive to detect cancer early in Scotland. It features the voice of Bill Torrance, with music by Neil Pennycook from Edinburgh band Meursault, and is also accompanied by an online video, animated in-house by the Leith Agency."

Excellent! Let's hope it raises awareness.

But it should have been recorded by the Small Faeces.

If it catches on, it will sell a few million copies. Money? It'll make piles.

Listening to it, I reckon they hit a bum note in the turd bar.

Somebody sent me a link today to a song called "The Colorectal Surgeon": http://www.youtube.com/embed/_43f9RzAqMM

Oh, and Peter Yarrow has a Colonoscopy song, but I'm afraid it's a little too sincere for me:

Not a song, but this video demonstrates the need for bowel cancer screening. I had no idea that cancerous polyps could grow so big.

links fixed.

It's commonly known as playing Poo Sticks round here.

Joe.. are you posting links to a smartphone version of that stuff? I can only assume so, because my desktop just goes "Duh...what's that?"
It was a fullscrenn version. I fixed the links, so now you can watch...uncomfortably.

Thanks for the link Joe. When my responsible adult was a junior doctor she had a year in colo rectal and I found that for her. She asked me only last week if I still had it for one of her registrars who was about to start a year and I had lost it.

I keep trying to write something similar for her specialty, breast, but there is a fine line....

I keep leaping over it unfortunately.

My own contribution to the bowel cancer screening song repertoire, "A Note of Thanks to Dr. Rees", can be found here. You'll find links to a lead sheet and a 15-year-old recording. Note that the version I recorded cites a slightly older technology than that reflected in the lead sheet.
