Years ago a man I knew was running for Governor of Maine, and he asked me if I had any words of wisdom to share for his speeches. My only advice to him was, be accurate, be brief and be seated. Few things are more irritating than someone in love with the sound of his own voice who drones on and on about some personal experience that no one else gives a rodent's rump to hear. Story telling is a fine art with many facets, and a psychic connection with the audience is vital. If their eyes are glazed over, you have lost them and you probably wont get them back. |

We'll be taking Andrew and Carol to the bus station for their trek southward and then spending most of the day laundering and packing. I have been a very bad influence on Claire, who now has a lot more 'stuff', found in thrift stores and yard sales, so we are going to have to work out what can be mailed back to California and what she will take with her.
