I tried a copy and zoom - but still not very clear on the print. We are booked elsewhere on the friday night so we are looking for the saturday and sunday programme in particular. Deal has always been one of my favourite late season events. I don't like to think how many years ago it was that I organised with Pete May to get the morris side down. On Countryfile a local Deal Photographer found water rats and kingfishers near where we camp. Sighting would be an added bonus. FloraG |

We are running a barn dance on the Friday ( but in a school hall - not a barn). The gallic version implies lots of variety - a bit more like a session. We shall only be doing lots of called dances and a raffle to raise money for the girls doing ' world challenge'. (A bit like VSO.) I think it has become the fashion to mis name barn dances. FloraG |

My first visits to Scottish ceilidhs in the 60s were a surprise in that there was little if any dancing- I'm not a Gaelic speaker, and was told that the word actually means 'gathering' so there doesn't HAVE to be any dancing at all! |
