A woman who I'm really close to believes in angels, the Goddess etc. [the Consort's response to mention of said Goddess: "Maddy Prior"!] I'm a fantasy writer & reader, who as a disabled & somewhat morbid, lonely child, formed imaginary bonds w/ musicians. Their songs, the songs' characters, & by extension the musicians themselves, seemed to me to be "not of this world "; they stopped me getting bored; they were & are a great source of comfort, inspiration, strength. etc. which served as warnings to me, so though I'm a skeptic I see where this woman is coming from. I look forward to her frequent clear-outs cos I get saved a lot of her magazines, jewellery she no longer likes/wears, etc. She finds MBS [mind, body & Spirit] events for me. I've a flatmate who's deeply religious. We've nothing in common yet we aren't really that different. We all have coping mechanisms; me, this woman, my flatmate; they're as different as we are but it all does the same job, so why would mentioning said "bonds" w/ musicians to anyone who wasn't my family, the Consort, or you lot end up w/ me in the funny farm [ha ha, hee hee.....]?? |
