028 4461 9161 is the landline - Try a call and ask the Lowden people .
Website doesnt list a registered Luthier nearer than Leicestershire

You could also try Steve Curtis, guitar tech based at PMT music shop in Regent Road Salford M5 3GR. He's done lots of stuff for me and I've always found him to be very good. I think he's accredited for Gibson and Taylor, so he's no amateur. Also he's a really nice bloke. Worth a ring 0161 877 4962

Ged Green in Cheadle. Comes highly recommended although I've never used him myself.

Eddie Green in Kirkham was one of the original Fylde Guitar team. He now makes guitars, mandolins and banjos to his own high spec (or yours). For many years he has been repair-man of choice to musicians from all parts of the UK. He has worked on various instruments for me and I have always been happy with the results.

I'll PM his address and phone number, but he may also be reachable via the following email address:-

If you are still struggling to find anyone, try Jim Fleeting in Ripon. It's not over much distance.

Another plug for Jim Fleeting in Ripon. Very knowledgable and a nice guy. He has my D-18 at the moment for finish-repairs to the back.

Tnaks a lot everyone. Ged Green and Forysyths's come out nearest for me so far but the Lowden Authorised crew in Hertfordshire is a possibiblty.

Again thanks to all. Damn strap! I've not recovered yet.

Eddie Green did a nice job on my Fylde after I'd dropped it on a tiled floor.

Ged Green has already been mentioned. Paul Cuthbert of Paulcuthbert Guitars is excellent, he is in Whalley Range in Manchester.http://paulcuthbertguitars.co.uk/. He's away teching for a Swedish band for about another week.
Steve Lally of SJL Instrument Repairs in Stockport has worked on a few damaged lowdens, http://www.instrument-repair-manchester.co.uk/service/guitar-repair-stockport/

Thanks again to all. I'm just about recovering from the trauma of it all. Enough to start making a decision from all your recommendations.

Thanks again.

I'm with Ross and Brian on this. Eddie Green is a wizard with guitars - making, etting up or repairs - and as long as he is alive I look nowhere else to get my guitars serviced. He's a great chap too and extremely good value.
