Of course, you can transport the Setup file on a disk, thus you do not need an Internet connection on the target machine. Just run it there, and when you do not need that installation any longer, uninstall it. |

I found a discussion on Portable abc applications at thesession.org, but a brief scan suggest that none of it sounds very practical... What exactly is the problem that you're trying to solve? There may be easier solutions. |

Clearly sharing via might have been an option But thanks anyway |

12 Nov 13 - 01:29 PM (#3575046) Subject: RE: Tech: ABCexplorer on a disc From: SteveMansfield I'm pretty sure AbcExplorer relies on ghostscript and abcm2ps to generate the notation images, which will make it pretty damn difficult to make portable in the way you suggest. My understanding is that apps have to be pretty much designed from the ground up to be executable from detachable media, it's not something that can happen purely by chance or desire. Grishka's solution is a good one; the only other thought I have is that many people have like me moved on from AbcExplorer to EasyAbc, which, although still needing an installation, has an even lighter footprint on the host machine and will uninstall completely if you don't want to leave it in place. |

Protection system: Windows does not allow any installation or update from user accounts that do not have admin rights - that is the very point of the latter. |
