This time the wind had done approx. half the job for me. Occasionally I have gotten really lucky, and had the wind do most of the job. |

It's a double blow job and I get as many blow jobs as I need. As soon as there are four inches, the blow jobs start. The little red tractor "follows" the City ploughs so I can usually get in/out of my driveway within a reasonable amount of time after the plough goes by. I have the cell number if I need an emergecy blow job. Of course, I have my own snowblower so I can blow it myself if I need to and, of course, I have to finish up the job in any case because the big equipment can't access tight areas. Got me a Honda with a hydrostatic tranny so I can take it as slow as I want... which is getting slower and slower as I age. It blows 65 tonnes/hr and that is one big load! Pic of my blower. I figure $750 is a good price. I wasn't gettin blown until a while back when my back was still good. Now, I can just settle back and relax and let someone else do it. I mean, with my arthritis, I just can't blow anything this big. |

I have a lovely vid of the yellow leaves of my backyard maple jumping to their deaths on a still and frosty morn. I just wish I could find it. As the sun comes up after a killer frost and there's nare a strip a wind, one floats gently down... then another... then more... then... you get the idea. It's like a great symphony that builds to a crescendo. |

After a year in piereced sacks they go into a bin which produces around nine wheelbarrows full of beautiful leaf mould after a further 12 months which help keep moisture in my very light soil, especially for runner beans and zucchini. I really can't allow ALL of them to remain on the lawn, or I'd never find the grass in Spring. My street is full of trees, and I have Maple(4), Oak(2), Black Gum, a huge Poplar, and a very large Sycamore which dumps VERY large leaves at the last minute. There's always a good selection for the first mowing in Spring. |

Some folks also use the huge compostable paper bags. |
