'The Old Guitar' video project

The Old Guitar looks like an interesting project. The New York Times has a description, and the story of the (crappy) old Kay guitar they ended up using for the project:
Connor Millican and Corey Pane, two friends from Connecticut who were playing music together and dabbling in video production, had an idea: They wanted to put a funky old guitar in the hands of some funky young musicians and ask them to pluck out a tune. While the players would vary, the guitar would be the constant, becoming a shared tool between artists with different styles and methods.

What a good idea.
I did notice that none of the people in the four videos I watched were real players. They made some neat music, but that was due to their singing and song writing and not their guitar playing. They mostly used the guitar for strumming and one guy did some arpeggios. I'll admit that I didn't listen all the way through, so some may have showcased the guitar work later on.
I'd like to see the old guitar in the hands of some guitarists rather than singer/songwriters.
