Subject: Music from 'Evenin's Fa'
From: Johnny J

Music from "Evenin's Fa' " presented by Scott Murray with Jenny Gardner, Amy Geddes, and Sarah McFadyen

Edinburgh Folk Club on Wednesday 15th January 2014.

Scott will be presenting music from his "Evenin's Fa" album ably assisted by Jenny, Amy, and Sarah who are three very fine musicians indeed.

About Evenin's Fa':

It's a thing of great beauty. This is heartfelt, understated, unpretentious singing. Worn and weathered tweed. Beautiful and honest. I've found a clutch of Scott's own songs deeply moving... it's such a beautiful album
KARINE POLWART

The CD is wonderful. It is folk music at its best. I love all the songs, I love the arrangements. It is filled with love...a beautiful performance and recording
ROY BAILEY

...a genuine heartfelt performance on every song from that big old voice... Great songs. Great album. Scott doesn't just sing, he resonates. A voice in a million
IAN McCALMAN

Scott's voice is craggy, manly, time-worn and warm. The songs on this album are deceptively simple yet profound, lingering in your head. They juxtapose deftly described Scottish landscapes with deep human emotion. The songs are tenderly accompanied by guitar, fiddle, viola, accordion, mouth-organ, banjo and vocal ensemble

This is a beautifully-produced thoughtful album. There's a naturalness about it and a welcome simplicity of arrangement which gives it a special quality...a real person singing about real life
NICK KEIR

What a marvellous instrument is Scott's voice – this is a true gem of an album, impeccably presented, recorded and packaged
DAVID KIDMAN

...the honesty of it, the sense of place hit home to me. I love the design and the stories, the general thoughtfulness yet unfussy nature of it all. Great job
STEVE BYRNE

It is beautiful, warm, heartfelt and full of laughter and tears
SHEENA WELLINGTON

It's the best music ever
GREGOR FORBES (aged 4 and a half)
