Black History Month chantey program

"Chanteys: The African American and Caribbean Connection" will presented by Richard Adrianowicz (Radriano) and Park Ranger Peter Kasin (me, Chanteyranger)on Saturday, February 22, 100-1:45 aboard the 1886 Glasgow-built sailing ship Balclutha, berthed at Hyde Street pier on San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf.

We'll be singing chanteys from African American and West Indies origin and influence: work songs of sailors, fishermen, oarsmen and longshoremen. The choruses are easy to learn, and everyone will be encouraged to sing along.

The park's standard admission fees apply(good for all the ships that are open to the public): Adults, $5. Ages 15 and under, free. Free with national park passes. No reservations needed. Purchase boarding passes at the ticket booth, located halfway along Hyde Street Pier. http://www.nps.gov/safr/
