02 Mar 14 - 10:28 PM (#3606613) Subject: War Horse live cinema showings From: McGrath of Harlow On Wednesday last there was a cinema event with the National Theatre stage production of War Horse beamed to cinemas just about all over the world. Our cinema was packed out, and it was a brilliant show. I've seen it live, and the cinema event was actually even better, because I could hear the words better and see the faces. And the horse puppets were incredible. And the songs of course, so familiar from folk clubs and festivals... I'm wondering if many other Mudcatters went to see it in their cinemas? |

03 Mar 14 - 04:27 AM (#3606655) Subject: RE: War Horse live cinema showings From: GUEST,Ray I saw the touring version at the Lowry. It started OK but if I'd been on my own I'd have gone home at the interval. I found the whole thing boring ...... and those bl##€y horses! I likened the whole thing to a pantomime with more than one horse. |
03 Mar 14 - 10:53 AM (#3606764) Subject: RE: War Horse live cinema showings From: GUEST,Diva I saw it on Thursday night in Hawick. Cinema was packed. It was amazing. Loved it and wept buckets at the end. The songs were fabulous. |

04 Mar 14 - 04:29 AM (#3606987) Subject: RE: War Horse live cinema showings From: Keith A of Hertford There was a live link shown at Broxbourne. Having seen the stage production I did not go. I wish I had now. Certainly much cheaper than a trip to West End! |
04 Mar 14 - 04:33 AM (#3606988) Subject: RE: War Horse live cinema showings From: Johnny J I enjoyed it very much and was almost like being at the theatre itself with interval drinks and all. We actually viewed it in the big hall at the Brunton Theatre in Musselburgh which was much better than going to one of these horrible "multiplex" places. |
04 Mar 14 - 07:44 AM (#3607053) Subject: RE: War Horse live cinema showings From: ian1943 We saw 'War Horse' at the Gala Theatre in Durham last night having seen the film some time ago. The National Theatre presentation on a huge screen was absolutely excellent and we needed strong drink when we got home. |

07 Mar 14 - 07:08 AM (#3607954) Subject: RE: War Horse live cinema showings From: My guru always said We saw it on 7th March at Dorking Halls, to a packed house. There were a few seconds here & there of pixellation problems but otherwise was fantastic. Wished we could have joined in the singing and applause and missed the atmosphere of the theatre production, but vision & sound were great! |
