Guests at Glasgow Ballad Workshop/March

We're delighted to be welcoming guests to our event on Sunday 30th March -- Alison McMorland and Geordie McIntyre.

Alson is well-known for past work with singers Willie Scott and Elizabeth Stewart, which resulted in two grand books; and Geordie was collecting from source singers in the 60's, with many fine and interesting versions. And both know their way round a song, so we're looking forward to good afternoon of great songs!

Prices are £8/£6 conc. and we start at 1pm in Avant Garde bar in King Street (near the Tron Theatre), going on till approximately 4pm. But if you're travelling a distance, the bar will be open from the back of noon and mein host Billy serves a bowl of very tasty of home-made soup.

Space is limited, however, so pre-booking is strongly advised. Please book in with me by email at    neilsonanne@ymail.com   or phone me on 01355 239592 (and be prepared to leave contact details if you get the answer phone!).

Hi, Guest -- glad you had such a good experience before.

Might we be seeing you this time?

Guest - I'll be there; I suggest you check your clock though. There might be sleepyheads.

Hi, Guest -- I'll be advising all participants to put their clocks forward by one hour BEFORE going to bed on Saturday 29th March, so that they awake - by alarm if necessary - in British Summer Time on Sunday 30th!

And our event will start at 1pm BST.

Hope that allays your fears….

Looking forward to this event - - those of you going for lunch be warned, the Macaroni Cheese is yummy, but a huge plateful and served very hot- - give yourself plenty of time to consume!

Just a wee reminder of this Sunday's guest event -- and a nudge to remind those who'd like to come that they should book in with me in advance (contact details in first post).

A wee bump for this event -- well worth a try for those yet to experience the power of antique story songs….
