Instruments: Anyone Want a Lemonharp?

Subject: Tech: ANYONE WANT A LEMONHARP?
From: LadyJean

Last Summer I bought an autoharp on Ebay. The problem with any autoharp is getting the blasted thing tuned. But this one turned out to be more of a problem than most. The bridge is, it seems, made of balsa wood. I got myself a class A lemon.   I am not sure who made the el cheapo thing. But it really isn't tunable or playable. However the strings are all new. The hammerheads and felts are good. I am willing to take best offer plus shipping charges. Send me a personal message if by any chance you're interested.

Is it possible to just replace the bridge?

Actually If all else fails I might be interested in buying it, but I feel that the shipping might be more than it is worth, as is.

However, you bought the thing because you wanted it and is would be nice if you could fix it easily. If you want to, you can email me some close ups of the problem areas and I'll see if I can help you fix it.

My email is bert -ATSIGN- bertsolutions.com.

It shouldn't be too difficult to replace the bridge. The pleasure of playing something that you have fixed yourself will last.

If it's an Oscar Schmidt, I was going to recommend their fine tuning bridge system,as it makes the tuning a lot easier. Howver, Ive just gone on their website, and they now want $199.90 for it!

Lady Jean, were you trying to refresh this thread?

If you would put lemon or harp in the Filter box and set the age back a few days, it would come right up.

I bought an autoharp last summer. It's a lemon. The bridge is made of balsa wood. I can't get it to tune. The strings break. HOWEVER the strings are new. The hammers and felts are good. I will take best offer, plus shipping, unless you live near Pittsburgh, PA, in which case I will take best offer. Just send me a personal message. Thanks.

C'mon, Lady Jean - read what I wrote above and don't start a new thread every time you want to talk about your harp.

I bought an autoharp on Ebay. A large mistake. The thing is a lemon. The bridge is made of balsawood. It won't stay tuned. However bits of it are still good. I would like to find it a home. If you live outside of western Pennsylvania, I would like some help with shipping, but otherwise, it's yours for the asking.

Ok, I didn't see the first message, and I did sort of ask for personals in response. I will take the best offer. If the best offer is I'll pay for shipping, that's what I'll take. It is not an Oscar Schmidt. I don't think Oscar Schmidt would make something that cheap. The guy I had working on it couldn't fix the bridge. I am just trying to find it a home.

Ok, then my computer went offline. It never rains but it pours around here. Any offers?
