Help! I'm looking for the lyrics to a rather naughty song whose chorus repeats the term "Lah-Di-Dah" several times. Can anyone help? Please e-mail lyrics to above address. Thank you all!

Welcome to Mudcat!.

The choruses of 'naughty' songs are often somewhat interchangeable. Give us a clue how the verses go.

Or search for @BAWDY in the database above and you'll get so many that you'll completely forget what you were looking for.

Bert.

I take it you don't mean the Jake Thackeray song that starts
Now we've agreed that we're in love
We'll have to face the Lah di dah
The eyewash all of the fancy pantomime
I love you very much.

Another bawdy Lah-di-dah has been sung by The Corries. There was a thread on it whose title I can't remember. This is how it started:

On the 17th of March in La-di-da-di-da
A son was born to Mrs. Da-di dum.
He had two arms, two legs, a mouth, a nose and ears.
And the usual La-di-da-di-da-di-dum.

They duly christened him La-di-da-di-da,
The gave his second name as Da-di-dum.
And throughout his life, and he lived for 90 years,
He was known as La-di-da-di-da-di-dum. (Copied from thread)

Maybe this'll help you to search for the thread. I don't know how to go about it, as the Body search is unavailable. Or maybe someone else remembers the thread title? - Susanne

Could it be "Hey Lah-di"? Chorus goes "Hey lah-di lah-di lah-di, hey lah-di lah-di lo" twice. Verses are made up by those present, using and rhyming with the name of someone else there. Example: "I know a guy whose name is Fred, hey lah-di lah-di lo, The girls say his poor thing is dead, hey lah-di lah-di lo", followed by the chorus. (Apologies to all the Freds out there, just the first rhyme that came to mind tonight.) Gets as bawdy as the crowd dares. Copious amounts of booze help.
