Here are a couple of YouTube videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbC8mI4OxIc (Australia) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWYAYGpAqWQ (Live in Warsaw 18 Mar 2012) The song was written by Eleanor McEvoy and introduced on her 2006 album, Out There. It's also on her 2013 album titled Singled Out and on an album titled 25 by Carrantouohill with a lead singer who sounds suspiciously like Eleanor McEvoy. Great song. I can think of a lot of people it applies to... Here's what I found online so far: http://askville.amazon.com/song-wrong-places-title-Darlin'-suffered-ther/AnswerViewer.do?requestId=89675381 Oh Darlin, suffered so well There you were a sufferin and I couldn't even tell Oh you suffered so well Everyone's impressed Now you tell me underneath If you hadn't told me, I never would have guessed Oh you suffered so well Oh Darlin' suffered so well, there you were a sufferin and I couldn't even tell depths of hell Oh you suffered so well If you hadn't said so Never would have known That all those nights I called you up And thought you wern't at home |
29 May 14 - 07:35 PM (#3629017) Subject: ADD: Suffer So Well (Eleanor McEvoy) From: Joe Offer Here's my transcription from the Out There album - I found it on Spotify. I'm having problems with parts, so I used the acoustic Australia recording and came up with more. Post corrections below and I'll incorporate them into this transcription. SUFFER SO WELL (Eleanor McEvoy) CHORUS Oh, darlin', (you) suffer so well, There you were a-sufferin' and I couldn't even tell; There you were a-goin' through the deepest depths of hell, Oh you suffer so well. [????....party, and everyone impressed] Now you tell me underneath you felt so darn depressed If you hadn't told me, I never would have guessed, Oh, you suffer so well CHORUS If you hadn't said so, I never would have known That all those nights I called you up And thought you weren't at home, You were just too down-and-out to go pick up the phone, Oh, you suffer so well. CHORUS I hope you can forgive me for ever doubting you, For ever doubting all the hurt and pain you suffer through; The women and the drinks, see, they had me kind of fooled. Oh, you suffer so well. CHORUS I have real problems with the line I marked, but I think I have the rest. Can anybody help? What a great song!!! I suppose for the first verse, I could substitute "We were at a party, and everyone's impressed" - but it would be nice to know what the actual lyrics are. -Joe- |
