Tune Req: The Halibut Song - Richard Digance

Hello,
Does anyone have a recording of Richard Digance's Halibut Song? I can only remember the tune for the chorus and cant find it listed on any albums, on Spotify, and his contacts on his website dont have it.

Is it to be my destiny to only remember choruses of obscure songs ( i.e. Thread on Cider Time!)

Lnda.

Try this for size!

Very fond of that one myself. I remember requesting it at a folk club in Leeds back in 1983 - Richard fixed me with a hard stare and said, "Blimey. You're a simple soul, aren't you?". But he sang the song and, taking pity on a penniless student, gave me a copy of his cricket book 'Run Out In The Country" after the gig. Top man.

Oops. Just read your post again and realised it was the tune you were after. Can't really help there, though if memory serves (which, increasingly, it doesn't) the verses were spoken rather than sung with the tune coming in on the chorus. So, if you you can remember the tune to the chorus you're pretty well there!

If I remember rightly, that is...

Ok, if the verses were spoken I am there! Thanks!

I did embed a MIDI of the tune in the webpage, but it doesn't seem to play any more.

The URL is

and it does work in Windows Media Player.

I might be singing it at the Colindale Folk Club this evening - or maybe another time :-)
