14 Jun 14 - 06:32 AM (#3632900) Subject: music workshop in Chester From: Mo the caller Don't remember if Fiddle-d-Dee has been mentioned here. Helen Armstrong organises it, members are mostly fiddlers but other instruments are called fiddles for the night. We take it in turns to teach each other tunes (by ear preferably, music given out afterwards - but no hard and fast rule). And when funds permit we bring in someone to give a workshop. Since several members play Mandolins We are holding a special mandolin workshop this month next Thurs (19th June) Cross Keys, Chester Lower bridge street. Chester, Cheshire Michael Giverin from the Jaywalkers says on his Facebook page " It will be mostly learning (hopefully new to you all) tunes, that I can talk about techniques whilst learning the tune. So a fiddle player should have more than enough to play along with and should at least go home with new tunes. Mike" We usually meet in The Bridge Chester on the second Thursday (and go downstairs to join the session afterwards). Helen makes everyone welcome. |
