I always liked his simple approach to rock 'n roll. I thought he was a very underrated fellow. he will be missed |

I always loved "She' s About a Mover" when Sir Douglas emerged, but 'Mendocino' particularly had it all - not least the Augie Meyer organ riffs. Shee Yee er yn annym echey. Bobby Bob |

20 Nov 99 - 08:34 PM (#138973) Subject: RE: Doug Sahm (Sir Douglas)has died From: Stewie I reckon his music was great, particularly the early albums. The writer in the old 'Rolling Stone Record Guide' summed it up well: 'Doug Sahm is a walking encyclopedia of Texas music - blues, country, western swing, vintage rock n' roll, cajun, R&B, even Mexican border music - all of which is melted into a bright, pulsating sound nobody else has ever matched'. Vale Sir Doug. |
