Tech: Facebook Videos Problem

Hey, I know that many Mudcatters don't facebook (is that a word?) but many of us do. In my case I find it a great way to stay in touch with my daughter and son in law and get better acquainted with my grandchildren.

My problem: Recently some of the photos and videos that others post are not visible to me. Many others are, so it is not a blanket problem. Captions and text are there and complete. This has never happened before.

I use Windows 7 Home Premium. I did a System Restore and it solved nothing. My anti-virus and malware programs are up and used routinely.

Any ideas? Thanks for thinkin'.

I've had a few problems recently with that, too. I'm on windows 7 Professional. Problems only seen to occur when browsing in Internet Explorer. I don't have them when using Chrome.

Possibly FB have done some mods to the way they handle videos and there's a glitch in the way they work with some browsers?

I don't use IE, but Firefox. It may be counter-intuitive- but maybe I'll give IE a try. Just in case?

IE doesn't work for me either with fb vids. Also not with soundcloud nor vimeo either for that matter. So sure, try IE if you want to, but I can't see why; Chrome is far more likely to solve your issue than IE.

Well, I tried IE and thought for a bit it was working. No video gaps- and then there was one, so I closed it

I don't remember what kind of problem it presented but I tried a few months ago to download Chrome and had to give it up. Maybe I'll try it again.

The funny thing is that I've been on Facebook for several years- and not until a month or so ago has there been a problem with videos.

Could this be related to html5? Check this page.

I thought it was just the general tightening up of the music publishing industry concerning copyright issues!
