I realise that August is often a thin time for music sessions, sing-a-rounds, open-mic nights and the like but does anyone know of anything going on in the area? DC |

Also Saturday nights at The Bespoke Folk Café, Coniston...resident duo Tapestry and whoever else has a go. (Small spot with nice PA.) Angler's Arms, Haverthwaite - some Thursdays. The Crown at High Newton has a very good open mic on the last Thursday in the month. Check out Fiona Hanlon "Fiona music in the Lakes" as well, she's all over and is really good. There is a regular music session every Tuesday at the Hope and Anchor in Daltongate, Ulverston. Starting around 9 pm, musicians and singers are all welcome. Ali Kyle usually has a session every fourth Friday in The Old Friends in Soutergate, Ulverston, starting at 8 30 pm. The Prince of Wales at Foxfield has a session every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month. There is a singers' session at the Black Dog just outside of Dalton every 3rd Wednesday of the month, starting about 7 30 pm. |
