Venue: upstairs at The Black Bull, Kirkgate, Birstall, West Yorkshire. Easy access from j27 of M62 motorway... Date: Tuesday 23rd September 2014 at 8 pm (doors open 7.30). Small admission charge - proceeds to local charity (Kirkwood Hospice). Topics covered include war and peace, social and ideological conflicts. Songs from the pens of Ewan MacColl, Robb Johnson, Keith Marsden, John Richards, Sydney Carter, Chumbawamba, Eric Bogle, Joni Mitchell, Mike Harding, Peter Bellamy; Verse from Housman, Sassoon, Owen, Kipling, Scowcroft, McGough, Walls, and others including Jim S himself. For anyone not able to get to Birstall, there will be a further performance of the programme at the Black Swan, York on Tuesday 21st October. |
