Partly because we'll look for somewhere to share a song when we are there and partly because I like to have one around. I don't want to go to the hassle of letting the airline smash my guitar to pieces so I thought I'd look to buy a cheap and cheerful used guitar when I get there and then either bring it back or give it away when I leave. Does anyone know where I should look and whether I should be able to get either a steel string or nylon strung acoustic that will fill a gap? In the UK there are things like Gumtree where something like the Encore guitar at £30 would probably do. Or perhaps there are junk shops, or charity shops or similar? |

I usually look for a Simon and Patrick, a Crafter or a Big Baby Taylor. These are usually new, sound decent and I don't spend valuable vacation time shopping for something that might not be all that playable. |
