The only lines I can recall are: 'Pamolita we'll wander together, in the vale where the oranges grow.' Thanks Jeff |

10 Oct 14 - 08:47 AM (#3667791) Subject: RE: Lyr Req: 'Little Dove' Pamolita From: maeve Since "paloma" means dove, and "palomita" means little dove, I'd assume a typo. |

The song has special significance for me. My dad heard me singing while I washed dishes, hurried down out of the attic to hear such a lovely song. I hope to see an update, soon! |

30 Jan 20 - 11:24 PM (#4031263) Subject: ADD 'Little Dove' - Palomita From: Joe Offer I've got the MIDI link in leeneia's message above. Here are the lyrics that correspond to her MIDI: Palomita Language: Spanish (Español) PALOMITA Palomita vamos a mi tierra, Y seremos felices los dos, Gozaremos lo que un_alma_encierra, Y_estaremos en gracia de Dios. ¿Por qué quiero de ti separarme? Tengo_otros amores, tengo_otros consuelos. Palomita vamos a mi tierra, Y seremos felices los dos. ¡Palomita. (English Version by Aura Kontra) Little dove, let us fly to my homeland, We'll be happy as happy can be. We'll enjoy living there in contentment, And your dreams you can share with me. How can I leave you here far behind me? My life would be lonely without you beside me. Little dove, let us fly to my homeland, We'll be happy as happy can be. 31 Jan 20 - 01:53 AM (#4031272) Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Palomita - 'Little Dove' From: Joe Offer But the song I posted isn't very close to the requested song, "Pamolita we'll wander together, in the vale where the oranges grow." |

31 Jan 20 - 01:52 PM (#4031380) Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Palomita - 'Little Dove' From: GUEST,keberoxu It looks as though the requested English might be a sung translation, the sort that fits the meter of the lyrics and music, that fits the rhythms, rather than exactly translating the meaning of the Spanish words. |
31 Jan 20 - 02:54 PM (#4031383) Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Palomita - 'Little Dove' From: Joe Offer I wondered that, too, Keberoxu - I don't see any oranges (naranjas) in the Spanish, but sometimes "translations" of songs are a far cry from the original. -Joe- |
04 Feb 20 - 03:32 PM (#4032255) Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Palomita - 'Little Dove' From: leeneia Oops. Today I started putting chords on the MIDI I made, and there's a problem with it. It sounds fine, and if you want to listen to it to learn the tune, it will work. But now it looks like the first two notes should be pick-up notes, because so far, the chords fit better that way. |
