I've not listened to the album for a while, so from memory, I think it might be a recitation rather than a song. John |

The element of Nemesis in the Beer Flood, of course, was when the owners of one of the houses affected started selling tickets to see the bodies of the deceased, and packed the house so full the floor gave way, decanting the lot into the cellar beneath, which was still full of beer. From: Stu I've been doing my family history and it turns out my ancestors lived in the St Giles rookery; the font my great-great-great-great-great-grandfather was baptised in is still in St Giles' church and I saw it for the first time a few of weeks ago when we were in the smoke for dinosaurs and Kate Bush. I also had relatives who were baptised in St George's in Bloomsbury, the church in Hogarth's Gin Lane which was based on the rookery. |
