Glasgow Ballad Workshop's next event is on Sunday 26th October at 1pm - 4pm in Avant Garde in King Street, Glasgow (very near the Tron Theatre).

This is an event of two halves: the first half welcome our guest Ewan McVicar who will talk about his long-time collecting of kid's songs which resulted in his book 'Doh Ray Me, When I Wis Wee' (a very welcome update to other such classics as the Opie's 'The Lore and Language of Schoolchildren' and Ritchie's 'The Singing Street').
And the second half will be a singaround on the theme of Children -- so feel free to bring your version of The Cruel Mother, or umpteen playground songs.

Admission is £6 / £5(members) / £4(concessions) -- but we do appreciate advance booking! Just email me at    neilsonanne@ymail.com

And as a postscript, mein host Billy usually opens up just after midday and there is always a good menu on offer, including grand homemade soup -- but also coffee or something stronger for those needing a bit of a kick-start to their Sunday….

Oh my, how I'd love to be there! I hope you can continue offering such workshops and singarounds...perhaps some day we'll get back over. Thanks to all for making these available.

Thanks, Maeve -- we count it both a pleasure and a privilege, and every time (guest event or not) there's always some contribution that makes it all worthwhile.

Numbers are picking up, so please email if you want to be sure of a place -- the back-room isn't overly spacious!
