Start off the New Year singing at the top of your lungs! Shanty sings at Mystic Seaport are always a blast... and here's hoping the weather will allow us to make the trek from western NYS.

here's the site: http://www.mysticseaport.org/event/chantey-blast-and-pub-sing/

It'seems in my calendar! And with a little luck here's a clicky. http://www.mysticseaport.org/event/chantey-blast-and-pub-sing/

If you come to Chantey Blast a little early, follow the road past the entrance to the Restoration Shipyard end and get close to the fence along that side of the property, as close to the river as you can. You might be able to get a glimpse of this ship. Remember that the seaport will be closed so seeing it from the outside edge is the best you can do, and I can't be sure it will be within view. http://www.mysticseaport.org/news/2014/mayflower-ii-arrives/

Yes, the Mayflower is well worth a look. She's the next project for restoration at the Shipyard.

I'm thinking of continuing south after the Chanteyblast to NYC if anyone wants to hitch a ride; I'll be attending the Exceedingly Good Song Evening in East Greenwich Village the following Sunday evening and then coming back to Maine the Following Sunday.

Cheerily,
