BS: More discoveries of ancient animals

Couldn't get all the headlines into thread title...but

Wooley Mammoth...complete with brain- 39,000 years

and

Bison ancestor with almost all organs- including brain- 10,000 years

No doubt lots of speculation about what can be done with DNA and cells re: cloning.

39000 years? Soft tissue? You're kidding! What are you, Bill, an evolutionist scum-to-mum Darwin clone? :-)

I presume, that since they were mostly in the freezer for most their demise, that there is less of a problem for their preservation. but being as there has been some thawing, those burgers might be unhealthy !.

At a minimum 6,000 years in the freezer-but likely much longer. Freezer burn is a liklihood.

Some folks in the 19th C. sat down and ate a mammoth dinner.

There were some hunters a number of years ago who fed their dogs on some thawed mammoth. (I can't find a link to that story I read about once.)

Be careful about cloning prehistoric animals. You might end up with
a Republican.

You get the odd dinosaur turn up on Mudcat.

Wouldn't want to eat the buggers though, or the burgers....

I used to like Dinah Shore -- good singer, and fair comedienne, esp in films she made with Danny Kaye.

Is that the same Dinah Shore used to play alongside Terry Dactel?

So you've never eaten chicken? That's a dino right there. And goose, quail, duck etc etc

Tasty beasties are maniraptoran theropods.
