Phonetically --"I willa lish I walla los in Mona-lunkee Land ,

A very old cradle song from the early 1900s .Does anyone have the words please .?

Your title seems to be "I wish I was a monkey" encoded according to a simple scheme that resembles pig Latin. However, the scheme is new to me, and it isn't listed in the Wikipedia article "Language game." Does it have a name? Knowing it might help look up the song.

Hi Oldtimer.

The same gentleman has appeared here from time to time recently! Met him at Pauline Sweeney's funeral a few months ago. As you say - life in the old dog yet! Will check out his blog later...

I heard this song at the film "Me before you". It brought back so many childhood memories. If i'm honest i thought myself and my sisters made it up!! lol Didn't actually realise it was a real song!!
So good to hear it again after almost 50 years!
