Got our tickets! I think the Wilsons are finally getting the recognition they quite rightly deserve. Brilliant!

Hi All,

A Healthy, Happy & Peaceful 2015 to one and all!

Thanks for the kind comments, Chris, John, Malcolm, much appreciated.

Yep, we are very much looking forward to The Sage Gateshead in March and our 40th Anniversary Celebration, of standing in a semi-circle and shouting at each other!.....to be honest, we have been doing that since we were toddlers, the only difference is, when we do it in public, we do our shouting at each other in a musical style... and call it "singing"! Should be a great night with lots of friends we have met along the way coming to help celebrate the occasion, hope some of you can make it too, here is the link:

AS IMPORTANT: Tonight is the first get together of 2015, for The Welly Folk Club. A Singaround/Session tonight, and we kick off at 8.30pm. Our first Guest of 2015, is Jim Mac Farland. Details of our Folk Club upcoming Guests are listed on our Wilson Family website, Gigs Page, the link for that is here:

Enjoy your Folking in 2015!

Cheers,

Mike W

Hi All, I've been asked by quite a few people to 'rough out' what format the night will take so here goes;
We had a lot of really nice responses about the way we presented our last gig a the Sage so we thought we'd do something similar but different!

Once again, the first half will be a song cycle, with projected slide show and narrative, but this time we've chosen to celebrate a dozen or so of the songs of Graeme Miles and the slides will try to give an illustration of the subject matter/landscapes/etc. which inspired Graeme to write them. The songs cover the whole period of his writing from 1950 through to 1974.

After a break, for a pint or two, we'll finish off the evening with a 'normal', concert style doing as many of our favourite songs as we can fit in with plenty of opportunity for choruses - then we'll probably find somewhere for another pint or two!

There'll probably be a few surprises during the night but they won't involve us dressing up in silly clothes.
Look forward to seeing you there, Tom

Is it the same Graeme Miles show you performed at Lewis a couple of years ago? If so that was excellent

In answer to the Guest query above, we're really chuffed that you enjoyed it. The first half of the night is based on the Graeme Miles workshop we did at Lewes, though we've refined it a bit to suit a different timescale.

It still contains most of the songs, slides and narrative as before but it's maybe a little less 'academic' and more 'fun'

Tom

Thanks for being a refreshing Guest!......yes, a few tickets left on level one (20 odd seated)....still plenty on level 2 & 3....so if you do not fancy too many stairs, now's the time to book....having said that, if you don't mind the stairs, you may want to buy a ticket on level 2 or level 3.....as they are nearer the bar!! ;-)

The Brothers had a run through the Graeme Miles songs we are doing last week....he really wrote some crackers!!.....Hope to see some of you there!

Just need to check if the stage is big enough!!!!

Although it'll only be a cameo appearance towards the end of the Concert it will be a lovely 'Family Finale' for this 40th Anniversary gig - (where have those 40 years gone?)

Looking forward to it, Tom
