So do I frogprince. Which are you at the moment, BTW, and do you need a kiss from a princess? Or anyone? :-)

See Bagpuss episode 3 The Frog Princess, where the frog prince kisses the princess and thus turns her into a lovely frog princess.

Bagpuss, dear Bagpuss
Old Fat Furry Catpuss
Wake up and look at this thing that I bring
Wake up, be bright, be golden and light
Bagpuss, oh hear what I sing

Brings back memories of when the kids were little with me enjoying it as much as them :-) Also the folk connection with music from Nancy Kerr!

... Sandra Kerr. Nancy wasn't even born when Bagpuss was first broadcast in 1974.

Just goes to show what happens when you work off defective memory - I need a RAM upgrade :-) It was indeed Sandra. Married to one of the producers I think but probably got that wrong too!

Thanks Reinhard

Did to me too, Janie. It is one of the best clips I have seen for years.

Cheers

Hi DtG, I don't think Sandra was married to the producer but she knew Oliver Postgate and got the gig through him. I believe she and John Faulkner wrote all the words and music.
