Excellent stuff - thanks for the link!

Some years ago I bought a very nice CD called "Avalon Blues: A Tribute To Mississippi John Hurt" - various artists each doing a John Hurt song. Worth a listen.

One of our all-time Favorites. He was the 'Real Thing'.
We purchased all 25 of His Albums.

Sure miss Him.

Happy Birthday, John!
Recently I started playing Shake That Thing and a few other MJH tunes that I've neglected for a few decades.
Thank gawd for Pete Seeger's Rainbow Quest show.

He had a sense of humor, too.

For anyone wanting to help ID the unknown instrumental, it's 42:20 into the recording.

To me, it just sounded like a standard 12-bar blues improv, though I could also be convinced it's improvisation on Cakewalk.
