Lincolnshire old time jams

Hello I just moved here from the USA and I am looking to jam with musically like minded people around Lincolnshire. I live in Lincoln and play clawhammer banjo, or at least am learning since last year. I would especially like to meet up with a fiddler or guitar player but anyone who likes to jam would be great.

No Old-tyme there, but other players and singers who might be able to point you in the right direction. And you'll make some friends and contacts. I'm often there, although it's unlikely that I'll make it next Friday due to other commitments.

First Sunday of each month from around 3pm till 6pm there is a largely folk jam at the Dod and Bone , John Street, Lincoln.

There are at least a couple of guys , with banjos etc, who play Old Time stuff - or FB Pete Gostelow - think he makes them too.
What sort of music is played just depends on who turns up!
Good luck, and welcome the The Shire! ;-)

Also quite a few players around the Newark area from many countries because of the violin school. A number of gypsy jazz players too.

Gainsborough used to have an old timey festival. Don't know if it still does.

It does, in February each year.
You can find out about it on the FOAOTMAD FaceBook page and website.
There's a session at the Malt Shovel in Ashby, Scunthorpe, on the 3rd Sunday of the month - mostly English/Celtic, but it's very much 'anything goes', and very friendly. Might be a good place to make contacts and check out what's going on.

Here's the link for what Backwoodsman said:

Friends of American Old-Time Music & Dance

There's a spring picking camp at Sacrewell in Cambridgeshire which shouldn't be too far for you - details as above.

They don't list any OT sessions in Lincolnshire; the nearest are probably in Nottingham and Doncaster. Not forgetting Gainsborough next February.
