A friend has asked for a recipe for Hoppin John that was written in verse.
It begins, "Take an oxtail, wash it clean. 'Cause you don't know where the oxtai's been."

Does anyboyd know the rest?

Sorry lass I found mention of a poem in a couple of places but none of them quoted it I will try again later.

A quick google gives:

First you pull it out then you rinse it again
Because you don't know where that oxtail's been

Others may find more.
