21 Apr 15 - 09:39 AM (#3703356) Subject: RE: Little Bunny Foo Foo - words? From: GUEST (spoken) Down came the Fairy Godmother ... And she said ... Little Rabiit Foo Foo, I saw you ... Hoppin' through the forest, scoopin' up the field mice, and swattin' them on the head. I'll give you THREE more chances. Or else I'll turn you into a Goon. Sing chorus again, then Down came the Fairy Godmother ... And she said ... TWO more chances, then ONE. Then she turns him into a Goon. And the Moral of the story is .... (wait for it) HARE TODAY; GOON TOMORROW! |
21 Apr 15 - 10:32 AM (#3703373) Subject: RE: Little Bunny Foo Foo - words? From: GUEST,M Oral tradition obviously has huge play here. I seem to remember Cilla Fisher and Artie Tresize doing it at Trowbridge Village Pump Festival nearly half my life-time ago. As best I recall it went like this :- [sung] Little bunny Foo Foo Hopping through the forest Scooping up the field mice And bopping them on the head (replace "ing" with "in'" if it suits your diction :-) [spoken (in a "Listen With Mother" voice)] Down came the Good Fairy and she said [sung] Little bunny Foo Foo, I don't want to see you (again, use "wanna" if it suits) Scooping up the field mice, and bopping them on the head. [spoken] Now I'll give you 3 chances and if you don't behave I'll turn you into a goon. Repeat counting down 2 chances, 1 chance ("Now you've got one more chance...). Last time :- [sung] Little bunny Foo Foo Hopping through the forest Scooping up the field mice And bopping them on the head [spoken] Down came the Good Fairy and she said [sung] Little bunny Foo Foo, I didn't want to see you Scooping up the field mice, and bopping them on the head. [spoken] Now you've had your 3 chances so I'm going to turn you into a goon. And she did and the moral is "Hare today, goon tomorrow"... |

From: GUEST,Ellen Vannin Very similar Little Bunny Foo Foo Hopping through the green wood Scooping up the field mice and bopping them on the head (enthusiastic actions here) Then down came the woodland fairy and she said Little Bunny Foo Foo I don't want to see you Scooping up the field mice and bopping them on the head And same pattern as above Guest from then on. Mine was learned in the south-west of England. I think this is a very well-travelled song. |
