Who's at Chippenham Folk Festival 2015?

I'm planning to be at Chippenham Folk Festival (Fri 22nd - Mon 25th May) this year after missing last year- who else is going?

I'll be playing for Wild Thyme Border Morris, and looking forward to some cracking concerts and singarounds as usual.

Are Spare Parts Concertina Band leading the English session again this year?

I will be there on Saturday and Monday looking forward to the sessions, and The Tale of Ale show Sunday off to Gloucester Tall Ships and the Shanty Festival. Hopefully will bump into some Catters.

I'll be in the Old Road Tavern when I'm not dancing with Hawksword but is there an English session on Friday evening?

programme though I know it is being edited up to a day or two before printing if other years are any guide.
it says (eg) "£7.50 Musicians Workshop 17:00 - 18:30 West End Club
- playing by ear"

but there are usually a couple of sessions in the Old road Tavern and the one in the New Inn which I remember as pretty English (next door). The Old Road has a car park opposite.

Bob Berry has now contacted us suggesting there might be a Mudgather (possibly informal) - watch this space!

Thanks to the people who made the Mudgather - sorry it had to be arranged in a hurry and there wasn't much time to publicise it. In the event, the space provided by the Buttercross Inn turned out to be just big enough for the 15 people who attended, including guests:

Herga Kitty
Guest, Horologist
Guest, Mervyn Else
Manitas
TF2 (Richard Sarfas)
Noreen
Guest, Lesley Brooks
OldTimeTim
BobTB (Bob the Bastard)
Dave Earl (formerly Breton Cap)
The Unicorn Man
Guest, Marion Pitman
3 members of the Morena Slovak Dance Company

Because of the amount of time we spent in the Essential and Extra Essential Sings and the Folk Club, there were lots of venues we didn't get to, and lots of Catters we know were at the festival, because they were in the programme, but whom we didn't actually see!

Thanks to Jester Bob and all his team for organising the festival, to the Admiral for the Essential Sings and Folk Club compering, and to the Catters who came along to sing in the Rose and Crown and Cause:

RogerTCB
Lady Penelope
Morticia
JudeL
nickp
Sue the Borderer

I'll be corresponding with Bob about lessons learned for next year...

The problem with having a Mudgather at a festival as well organised as Chippere is that Bob has so much else on , msking the time to fit a Gasther in is not easy !
And I didn't even do my usual Day trip as I was involved with the South Hill Park Guitar weekend

Good point LF - in fact the Mudgather was supposed to start at 4.30 not 4, so at least some of the people involved in dance and music as well as song were able to come...
