Definitely Saint John and not Sinjun on Irish TV appearances of old

Agreed. He's always referred to as "Pete Saint John".
It's not his real name.

Regards

The English often use SINGEN, but in Ireland and in this case t's simply SAINT JOHN

There was a young fellow of St Bartholomew's Hospital
Whose car went by fits and by St Startholomew's Hospital
Till a man named St John
Took a look at the t John
And fitted it out with spare St Partholomew's Hospital

Translation should anyone feel the need:

There was a young fellow of Barts
Whose car went by fits and by starts
Till a man named Sinjun
Took a look at the engine
And fitted it out with spare parts
