28 Jun 15 - 12:38 AM (#3719447) Subject: Folklore: Streets of Derry From: Bearheart I'm looking for information about the background of this song-- actually two versions-- one as sung by Paul Brady and one as sung by Triona/the Bothy Band. I'm guessing they might be related to the Prickelly Bush, a Child ballad, but they are quite different from the (English) versions I know. Anyone know anything about their history and/or where these singers got their versions. I heard/learned them long ago and no longer have access to the LPs to check liner notes. |
