Transcribed from the back of a cool day and crooked corn/The Pennywhistlers. Nonesuch H-72024

My translation, (not from the above source):

Don't look for me where fields are green,
You will not find me there my love.
Where lives are wasting at the machine,
There is my resting place.

Don't look for me where the birds are singing,
You will not find me there my love.
I'm a slave where chains clang,
There is my resting place.

Don't look for me where fountains spray,
You will not find me there my love
Where tears run and teeth gnash,
There is my resting place

And love me with your tender love
And come to me, my good love,
and lift this trouble from off my heart.
And make sweet for me my resting place.

Say, I wonder if you have an extensive Yiddish song library ... I've been hoping (unsuccessfully) to put together all the words of a song learned in school a zillion years ago .... It has the words:

In nayeh vent un in nayeh vinklen ... .. sar gefinst offen deck fuhn kufert Dos arbel fun an altmodish hemdt Un de siddur fun de kinder yoren Tzumisht de bleter gehl un shvach Un de alt loshen kodesh shures Aroisgefallen fun dem Yiddeshen sprach ....

I'm missing more than a few words here and there. Do you have any record of this one?

Thanks for posting this moving song, Charlie. I didn't know it. The translation sounds good to me with one exception. Not explicitely but implicitely there's an 'if then' clause in the beginning of the last verse to make it somewhat stronger:
And if you love me with real love
then come to me...
