The song keeps running in my head very normal story
Young Man walking in a new neighborhood sees pretty woman locked in upstairs and explains her father....

"My maidenhead does cherish, So tightly he does lock me in so lonely I could perish!...

The young man climbs up to the window and everything is great until the Father walks in .... The young man dives back out the Window..

"But the shotgun blast did find me, Weeks in bed picking out the lead with a mirror held behind me" ....

another stanza about how he was away (at sea?) but just happened to be in the area "One fine day I made my way" ...(some more I forgot) ... came upon the same house with the same woman in the upper window ...
"She didn't look much older but she had five girls and seven little boys, and a baby on her shoulder"

The music is a traditional Irish ditty that I have not heard any other words to it. Perhaps somebody could remember the rest from that part of the story.

I believe Oscar Brand wrote this much elaborated and expurgated version of a cruder original back in the 1950's under the title of "The Wayward Boy."

One more refresh since it seems to have been the OP's first post under that name.
