Hi Folks!

I just found a live stream website which has tons of live show recordings online. You can listen to them in WMA format 40kbps, sound quality not very good but a lot of good stuffs there, including a fair amount of folk and blues.

SugerMegs - Latest Additions

On the website page, you can click "View Setlist" link for the show's setlist and simply click the ".asx" link to listen to the show online. Most occasions, the "View Setlist" link would even include a brief review of the concert. Wonderful.

There are some very good folk concert recordings added to the website lately, including Doc Watson, Tom Paxton, Phil Ochs, John Denver, John Prine, Arlo Guthrie, and of course Bob Dylan.

Here are a few nice ones from the website - click to listen:

Doc Watson 1988-10-27
Phil Ochs 1964-04-10 and 1963-07-09
Arlo Guthrie 2015-10-23
Tom Paxton 1988-03-02
John Denver 1971-09-01
John Prine 1979-02-22
Doc & Merle Watson 1982-07-29
John Prine 1999-04-21
Tom Paxton 1981-12-07
Pete Seeger 1970-??-??

You folks will be interested!

FYI:

One of those "Instrumental" pieces in the 1988 Doc Watson setlist, is actually "St. Anne's Reel". His picking is amazing. Wish I could pick like that!

Pete Seeger in the 1970 WBAI show sang "American Pie", and it's the song's world premiere. Don McLean himself haven't sung that song in public by then.

John Denver in the 1971 show was barely singing his own songs. Mostly he was doing other songwriter's stuff. Shel Silverstein, Bob Gibson, Phil Ochs, Tom Paxton, Patrick Sky and even Merle Haggard.

Ho hum....

Dear Sugarmegs website, I notice a number of my original recordings in your collection (including one miss-titled) and don't recall giving you permission to spread them around.

Having made that point I am aware that my listing them on other sites lets you think that I do - and to be fair I have made use of similar sources myself.

However, if nothing else, please correct the Sandy Denny, Newcastle 12 Oct 72. It is the Guildhall NOT repeat NOT City Hall. I was there, I recorded it, rant, rant, rant!

Nick, I'm sorry to hear that your recording was mistitled on the SugarMegs website. But I have actually have nothing to do with the Sugarmegs website myself... I just mistyped "SugarMegs" into the "From". I don't know how to get in touch with the website, sorry.

No problem Ron, I'd guessed it was probably the case.
