'Fieldwork' Reunion.

This may be of interest to those of you living in the Midlands, UK.

In what now seems a former life, the eighties and early nineties, Fieldwork gained a reputation as a "cutting edge" folk band around the Midlands and beyond who would regularly pack venues.

The band split up for the usual work/family/finance reasons.

Recently I spoke to former band member and songwriter Tim Garland who told me he is now retired, and is interested in becoming involved in folk music once more- I suggested he come and do a gig at our club at the White Horse, Seagrave, Leics.

Tim has not only agreed but has brought together two of the ex-members of the band plus Nitin, an Indian drummer he has performed with to do the gig which is on Friday December 4th at 8.00pm.

Tickets are £7.00 in advance, £6.00 concessions.

Support is from Julie Palmer and Phil Preen from the Poppy Folk Club and there is a surprise raffle!!

I realise I am testing folk memories with this one but hopefully there will be a few people who remember the band and how good they were.

I saw them a number of times mainly at Warwick FF. They were one of my favourite bands at the time. Really inventive and a broad range of influences. Good to hear they are back!
