22 Nov 15 - 02:23 AM (#3752619) Subject: Judy Small no longer performing - 2015 From: Joe Offer I've always admired the songs and insights and recordings of Australian performer Judy Small, but I haven't seen anything new from her for a long time. I checked her website (click) today and found that she's no longer performing. I think it's good news - the Website says Judy is now a Judge of the Federal Circuit Court and it is not possible for her to combine her singing career with being a judge. Can anyone tell us more about her? -Joe- |

The highlight for me was the reunion of 5 of the long gone 6-member female acapella group Tangled Web as they used to support Judy when she visited Brisbane. The 7th now lives on a Caribbean island so sent her voice via the ether for the album! Pic of Tangled Web in their glory days was posted March 20th Judy was there for the concert & it might have been her last appearance on the folk scene. Well, when she retires as a judge we'll probably see her back again. Bad news is judges retire at 70 so we'll be waiting at least 7 years ... past/lapsed OzCatters John Thompson (Cloudstreet) & Chris Maltby contributed - John & friends also used to support Judy, & Chris contributed photos. sandra |

Oh well, I just need to hope that she returns to singing in 7 years time- - and I am still fit enough to travel! |

I was already a fan, having heard her on Boston's Public Radio station many times. (That folk show no longer exists, nor does the venue where I heard her.) I have four of her recordings. I hope she does tour again, and if she comes back to or near RI again I'll make an effort to see her! |

Perhaps she was also talking about international concerts? I'd love to have her at my folk club & was pondering upon speaking to the organisers of the library & seeing when they were having her back ... However, if I had a middle name it would be Gunna & I never got around to it, & the 2023 program has been arranged. |
