It is obviously a tree of some sort - it sounds like cara + something. I hope some Canadian 'catter can fill in the blank. Any other corrections also welcomed. The crops are brown and thirsty and the well it's gone dry, And there's not a drop of moisture in an endless, cloudless sky. Most species don't even have separate articles about them at Wikipedia, with one exception: Caragana arborescens, or Siberian pea-tree, which is considered an invasive species in some areas. According to this map it is found throughout most of Canada. So it sounds plausible that you have identified it correctly. |
