I heard about these today, and had a look at some very attractive lady playing one on the Roland website ,and was fairly impressed, but I wondered if any of you out there had seen, heard,or played one ??(the cajon, that is !! ) ??

It looks pretty cool--and it would be great to have all those other percussion sounds available , but the sound, at least as it is rendered in those recordings, doesn't have the resonance and complexity of a regular cajon-If I said that it sounds "boxy" or "wooden", you might think I was trying to be funny...but it kind of does.

Nice idea.

It's hard to judge the sound of any acoustic instrument on a video - you don't know what the room was like, you don't know what mics were used etc. I've certainly heard plenty of cheap cajons that have sounded pretty rubbish - a lot worse than that one.
