2016 Obit: RIP Geoff Thompson (Packington Morris)

I am very sad to report the death, yesterday, of Geoff Thompson, founder member of Packington Morris and dancer with various other sides including Handsworth Sword. A fine singer and a good friend, he will swell the singing in the other bar. He wasn't a Catter but I imagine a number of Catters who will have known him.

Hi All,

I knew Geoff (and his wife) while they were in the US and he danced with The Pinewoods Morris Men.

Sorry to hear the sad news. Thinking of Gill and the rest of Geoff's family.

Oh dear,I was an occasional musician for Packington Morris in the early days and knew Geoff and Jill reasonably well when they lived on Kilwardby Street in Ashby de la Zouch.
Smashing bloke always a pleasure to be in his company.
My thoughts are with Jill.

Sad news. Morris dancers have a great dedication to the music and the dances. Geoff clearly shared this dedication and he will be much missed. I have added his name to the "In Memoriam" thread.

RIP
