Princeton is about 300 km (200 miles) E of Vancouver (about a three-hour drive through spectacular landscape). A free festival, and entirely volunteer-run, open to all performers of traditional music. Two outdoor stages, one indoor. The festival starts Friday night with a free public dance in the town square (this year it's Balkan!). Presentations, workshops, concerts, panels, from 10am to 6 pm Saturday and Sunday. About 120 performers. Glorious countryside (semi-desert, mountains), an ideal vacation spot, too. Email: princetonfestival@telus.net Weblog: www.princetontraditional.org Cheers! 16 May 16 - 04:20 PM (#3790656) Subject: RE: 9th Princeton Trad Music Festival From: Jon Bartlett I'm sure John will be with us - he's been at every one of the previous eight festivals. Since we're a free festival, the distinction between "performers" and "others" is very slight. John will certainly sit in the Irish session and the innumerable session sessions over the course of the weekend. Will you come yourself? (we have in the past had ideas about a "Liverpool singaround" - songs from or mentioning the place. That'd be fun! I could get out my "Lern Yerself Scouse" book. Jon Bartlett |

If you get the chance say hello to John for me we haven't meet in a long time. Good luck with the festival hope all goes well. |
