12 Apr 16 - 02:11 PM (#3784933) Subject: April Press Room (NH) Shanty Sing From: Bat Goddess The April Third Saturday of the Month Shanty, Forebitter, and Foc's'l Ballad Session will be happening THIS SATURDAY, April 16th from 3:30 to 7:30 PM, downstairs at The Press Room, 77 Daniel Street, Portsmouth, NH, USA. Sorry I'm late at posting this (thanks to Don Hale for the reminder) -- I've been juggling a lot of stuff and looking at the wrong things on the calendar. Hope a lot of you, now that "silly season" (St. Patrick's MONTH) is over, will come out and sing for the sheer joy of singing. No stage, no microphones, just camaraderie, pub food, good beer, and even a bit of history and maritime lore. Come help us raise the rafters with song. See you there! Linn |

16 Apr 16 - 08:49 AM (#3785591) Subject: RE: April Press Room (NH) Shanty Sing From: Bat Goddess Larisa asked me last night at the session if the shanty session was to be today or next Saturday. Seems it was down on some schedule as changed to the fourth instead of third Saturday. She corrected it (!!!) and will, of course, be our server today keeping us from dying of thirst and sustenance. People sometimes get confused when the first of the month falls on a Friday (as this month) or a Saturday, and ignore that first Saturday of the month. The only times the date was changed was 2007 and 2012 when we had the singaround a week early because St. Patrick's Day fell on a Saturday and, of course, to accommodate Pete and Laurette's wedding. It's almost always THE THIRD SATURDAY OF THE MONTH! Linn |

17 Apr 16 - 11:39 AM (#3785743) Subject: RE: April Press Room (NH) Shanty Sing From: Bat Goddess What a lovely and lively sing was yesterday's! I probably don't have time to post the list before I have to run off to a PMFF board meeting, but I can get a start. The crew was me (Linn), Hutch, Susan, Jeri, Bob E., Don Hale, Justine, DianneLucas, and Jeff R. singing. Also joined by Paul, whose last name is on the card in the depths of my purse (if I'm lucky) who came over from the bar to photograph us and then lead a song, and AnnaRose from Cork, Ireland originally and now living in Quincy, MA and visiting Portsmouth. Friends there to listen included Gail and Janice, Rita, and Phyllis. I'll post what we sang later. Linn |
