11 Jun 16 - 07:46 AM (#3794841) Subject: RE: Kendall's Taylor guitar From: kendall The time has come to face facts. I'm not the man I used to think I was. A little humor helps. This Taylor is the best production guitar I have ever owned; including, Mossman, Guild, Martin, Gibson, Yamaha and Carlo Robelli. Dave Mallett calls it a "Kick ass" guitar, and even the bluegrass pickers are impressed. It's sad, to be sure, but I feel kinda like Sisyphus every time I try to play it. 'm told by an expert that it is valued at $1500.00, but, there will be a Mudcatters discount. Bidding starts at $900.00 |

11 Jun 16 - 02:41 PM (#3794915) Subject: RE: Kendall's Taylor guitar From: gnu Well, buddy, I sold a Bodhran three days ago. The young fellah that bought it never played one (a banjo player... I said. "You are really gonna take the piss now.") and he asked me to demonstrate it. Haven't pounded a drum or anything ( ANYthing >;-) ) for years. Well, all I could do was smack it a bit like a beginner. That REALLY upset me but Arthur is a prick, eh? I sold my guitar and mandolin several years back which was a few years after I knew they should go to a "better" home. You'll just have to be thankful you got 25+ years more than I did. I know that doesn't make you feel better. Matter of fact, makes me feel bad about whining but, dammit all, that's all I have left! Odd that I should read this today. I bumped into a guy I used to play with at "My" Sobeys Grocery today... a store I would have thought I would never see him in because it's not the closest Sobeys to where he lives. He said he would call and we'd have a session. Nope. Sigh. I'll put out the word about your guitar around my neck of the woods. |
11 Jun 16 - 03:47 PM (#3794920) Subject: RE: Kendall's Taylor guitar From: MAG you have probably tried this, but just in case, I was unable to finger pick for years, but accidentally backed into the anti-inflammatory diet when i got diabetes. not usually into the fringy stuff, but i wasn't even trying this. went from being unable to prune my roses to getting 'em all done in record time. good luck. |

11 Jun 16 - 08:41 PM (#3794957) Subject: RE: Kendall's Taylor guitar From: Leadfingers I can vouch for the quality of the guitar - I had the use of it for The Getaway in 2010 (Thanks Again Kendall) which saved me extra hold luggage cost !! |
12 Jun 16 - 06:22 AM (#3795017) Subject: RE: Kendall's Taylor guitar From: banjoman Sorry to hear of your problems. I have similar but probably not so bad as you describe. I have had to modify my playing style for banjo and guitar so can for the moment keep playing. I dread the time when I may have to decide to stop. If you value the guitar so much can you not hang on to it at least as a keepsake, but then I suppose it would be a constant reminder. Anyway, best of luck Pete |
